37.5 hours per weekPrince are happy to be supporting an established client based in the north Shropshire area, who currently have a fantastic opportunity to join their existing design team in a senior capacity. Due to company growth and exciting, upcoming projects, this business is looking to expand their design team and skillset by bringing in a Lead / Senior Design Engineer. The role will be hands on but you will also be supporting and leading a small team of Design Engineers.The Lead Design Engineer will be responsible for:Guiding, supporting and leading a small team of Design EngineersSupporting with the design of new and bespoke products in compliance with industry and client specificationsPrepare and review 3D models, fabrication drawings and BOMs using CAD softwareEnsure that the designs meet performance, safety and regulatory requirementsCollaborate with internal manufacturing teams to optimise designs for manufacturabilityPerform engineering calculations Develop and maintain design documentation, data sheets and technical specificationsProvide technical support through the manufacturing, inspection and testing phasesSupport sales with quotationsLiaising directly with customers and suppliers on design requirements and specificationsResearching other products in the market to generate ideas for improvementProviding technical advice and support on design requirementsWorking with both 3D and 2D software systems such as AutoCAD/ Inventor/ SolidworksSkills and ExperienceMust have experience with 3D software (AutoCAD/ Inventor/Solidworks) Finite Element Analysis exposure/understanding would be advantageousRelevant qualification would be ideal but not essentialMust be within commutable distance
