This Opportunity
Our London office is looking for a Senior Associate in the European Private Equity group.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Evaluating acquisition opportunities across Europe in various strategies and asset classes, including operating businesses and listed vehicle transactions
2. Assisting in the underwriting and evaluation of real estate transactions sourced by others within the team
3. Participating in the formulation of the overall investment strategy and focus areas
4. Preparing presentation materials of investment opportunities for internal Investment Committee purposes
5. Coordinating the due diligence and closing phase of the transaction in conjunction with internal and external parties
6. Supporting the debt raising processes
7. Managing investments through their lifecycle, including preparing business plans, periodic reporting, valuations and cash flow projections, and tracking progress against budget
8. Overseeing the main asset management initiatives related to portfolio investments
9. Identifying areas of risks to investments
10. Analyzing and executing dispositions of investments as appropriate
11. Follow-on/strategy orientated sourcing and transaction screening
12. Providing leadership, training and mentoring to the Associates and Analysts
Qualifications:
13. 5+ years previous experience in real estate finance such as private equity, investment banking or corporate finance
14. 3+ years of experience supporting senior investment team members on transaction execution and management
15. Previous exposure to operational real estate preferred (e.g. residential, student housing, senior housing, self-storage)Work as a self-starter who can function autonomously as well as collegially as part of a corporate team
16. Ability to manage several parallel projects
17. Demonstrate an ability to follow company’s best practices and values
18. Strong academic track record
19. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, along with excellent communication and organization skills
20. Strong financial modeling skills
21. Strong writing skills
22. Proficiency with Excel
23. Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced team environment
24. Language skills: additional European language mandatory (preference for languages from the Nordics)
