This is a standout opportunity for a driven individual with a strong CNC and production management background to lead operations across a high-precision, low-volume manufacturing environment.
The Role
You will take full ownership of the daily operation of a busy manufacturing facility, overseeing a wide range of modern CNC and manual machinery. From optimising production processes to supporting safety and quality standards, you’ll play a vital role in driving performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage a comprehensive workshop equipped with 3/4/5-axis CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, wire EDM, and manual machines.

Plan workloads to maximise machine utilisation and achieve on-time delivery.
*
Oversee and deliver manufacturing projects of varying scope, value, and complexity.
*
Monitor and report on production metrics such as downtime, efficiency, cycle times, waste, and machine availability.
*
Champion continuous improvement initiatives, reducing lead times and increasing throughput.
*
Develop and maintain accurate job routings for capacity planning and costing. Use simulation software to assess and optimise production methods.
*
Engage with tooling and work-holding suppliers to trial new technologies, providing cost-benefit and performance evaluations.

Collaborate with Design teams to ensure technical documentation, drawings, and models are accurate and ready for manufacture.
*
Ensure all necessary tooling is in place and available to maintain smooth production operations.

Adhere to the company’s Quality and Health & Safety Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018), ensuring compliance across the team.

Ensure all team members consistently wear and use appropriate PPE, maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
What We're Looking For:

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in manufacturing within an engineering environment.
*
At least 5 years in a hands-on leadership or management role within a machining-focused setting.
*
Strong technical knowledge of modern machining techniques, programming, and cutting-edge tooling technologies.
*
Demonstrable track record of implementing measurable continuous improvement strategies.
*
A proactive and data-driven approach to managing operations and solving problems.
*
Excellent communication and team leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
*
Familiarity with simulation and planning software for process optimisation.
*
Forklift certification and First Aid training are highly desirable
