Transport for London (TfL) Engineers are always looking forward. Join us in one of our Engineering teams and, as well as maintaining legacy assets, you’ll deliver new systems and solutions. This is about connecting communities and creating opportunities, so we’re ready for the 21st century and beyond.
Day-to-day, your focus will be on delivering designs, drawings, information, calculations and enhancements that keep vital, innovative and big-budget projects moving. You’ll ensure assets are safe, working and compliant; develop your own solutions; and be a trusted source of engineering advice for everyone, including our Heads of Engineering Delivery.
As an Engineer within the Multidisciplinary Civil Engineering team, you will provide Civil engineering input to support programmes in line with the Mayor’s Transport Strategy, aiding your successful deployment to assignments across the organisation which often include asset, project and management related engineering. You will examine engineering problems and develop viable solutions to suit business objectives.
You will initially be assigned to the London Trams Civil Engineering Renewals Programme, based in Croydon, or on site along the London Trams network as required. Examples of ongoing and upcoming projects include drainage renewals, vehicle incursion mitigations, tunnel water ingress mitigations, embankment assessment and stabilisation, and retaining wall renewal. You will work closely with key stakeholders and other disciplines to coordinate and solve engineering problems. Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.
