A Senior Biology Technician is needed in a Mixed Secondary School & Sixth Form in South West London.
Responsibilities
* Working alongside Science Teachers to plan and carry out practical lessons
* Training other Science Technicians to ensure they are following correct safety procedures
* Maintaining accurate and up to date record of lab equipment
Contract and Hours
This Senior Biology Technician position will be full time and permanent.
The contract for this Senior Biology Technician post will be Term Time Only (39 weeks).
Working hours and days for this Senior Biology Technician role will be 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday (37.5 hours a week).
Salary
The salary for this Senior Biology Technician position will be between £35,200 and £37,423, subject to pro rata, depending on the qualifications and experience of each applicant.
The School
An Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' Free School & Sixth Form, located in the London Borough of Wandsworth. Having opened in 2012 the school is now fully subscribed with 800 places for pupils aged 11 to 18 year olds. The school is built on the landmark site of a former hospital and continues its tradition of service to the local community. The building is also able to operate as a doctors' surgery for local families. The listed building has been fully refurbished and modernised to provide excellent learning facilities yet still preserves the building's historic features. High quality classrooms and specialist spaces for RS, Music and Technology have been created as well, ensuring teaching is delivered effectively. The school has two courts, a sports hall and makes good use of local facilities for outdoor games and competitive sport.
Requirements
You're encouraged to apply if you're an experienced Biology Technician or Senior Biology Technician. Applications are also welcome if you're a British trained Senior Biology Technician or overseas trained Senior Biology Technician. All applicants must have the following criteria in order to be considered for this position as a Senior Biology Technician:
* Right to work in the UK
* UK Bachelor's Degree in Science
* Clear and updated Enhanced DBS
* First Aid qualification or relevant training
* Health & Safety qualification or relevant training
* Experience as a Science Technician or Senior Biology Technician in UK schools
