About the Role
Your day-to-day activities may include supporting complex investigations and ER matters, contributing to workforce planning, and coaching managers through challenging scenarios. You will analyse data to provide managers with tools for decision-making and use your data interpretation skills to inform your advice and solutions.
Responsibilities
* Ensure that managers have the knowledge, skills and resources to manage their teams within the policies, procedures and demands of the City of London Police, identifying development needs and using resources to meet these needs.
* Support managers in local and organisational change by good communication, ensuring they understand and can engage with the processes and local needs.
* Support managers in managing discipline, grievance, performance and sickness cases, following cases through to conclusion.
* Develop and support the revision of policies that are associated with the Business Partnering function.
* Represent HR at directorate level meetings, and at times at force level meetings as required, contributing effectively and acting as an ambassador for the HR team.
Requirements
* Extensive generalist or employee relations background gained within a complex organisation with comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and employment law.
* Experience of advising management teams on HR best practice and ability to demonstrate the development of best practice in an organisation across the full HR spectrum.
* Able to provide expert support to complex investigations, understanding the legal aspect of the issues involved.
* Ability to work resiliently and independently under pressure.
* Focused on providing excellent customer service using a collaborative approach and recognising the need for confidentiality.
The postholder must be a graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or equivalent (minimum level 3).
The postholder will ideally have knowledge of policing and police regulations or have worked as an HR Business Partner within a policing environment. (Desirable)
Demonstrate an understanding of how a service’s business plan has an effect on HR and vice versa.
This vacancy is open only to those who have the right to work in the UK. Due to the MV/SC level vetting required, you must have continuously resided in the UK for the last five years, demonstrating continuous residency in the prior five years.
