Main Responsibilities
The Corporate Accounting Manager will play a key role within the accounting team, overseeing the planning, preparation, and delivery of financial reports for a portfolio of Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV). You will ensure all reporting deadlines are met and that client accounting requirements are fulfilled in line with Ocorian’s contractual obligations. As a member of the management team, you will contribute to strategic initiatives, support process improvements, and lead the training and development of the wider accounting team.
* Review day‑to‑day bookkeeping, including expenses, VAT, accruals, prepayments, loan interest, and investment or investor activity.
* Review quarterly management accounts and supporting financial statements in line with each entity’s reporting requirements.
* Review annual financial statements and manage the audit process and auditor relationships.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory reporting requirements, applying current UK GAAP or IFRS and maintaining best‑practice standards.
* Build a strong understanding of client structures, transactions, and reporting needs, supporting ongoing relationship management.
* Maintain and improve processes to ensure timely delivery of all client accounting outputs and lead accounting‑related client meetings.
* Liaise with clients, auditors, and advisers to agree reporting timetables and oversee the review and release of client payments.
* Lead, motivate, and develop the accounts team through quality‑control oversight, continuous improvement, training, and performance appraisal activities.
Qualifications
Knowledge, skills and experience
* This is a senior position requiring an ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified person with excellent technical knowledge and understanding of current accounting standards, particularly IFRS and UK GAAP.
* Strong, practical accounting and technical knowledge.
* Clear and confident written, verbal, and presentation skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Excellent organisation and planning, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
* Professional approach that earns client trust and respect.
