The Scottish Qualifications Authority is Scotland's national awarding and accreditation body. We are looking for a Senior Associate Platform Engineer to work within the Platform Services team. The successful candidate will be required to support the provision of operation IT security capabilities across the business as part of the IT Platform Services team to minimise operational, financial and reputational risk. In order to do this you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following specific duties: Support the resolution of security issues and incidents reported through monitoring and SIEM tools and/or raised by colleagues Support, implement and maintain remediation action required from vulnerability management sources Maintain and monitor firewall, IDS/IPS and antimalware products Implement baseline security standards across various IT infrastructure Additionally, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: Understanding of administering virtual environments, specifically VMWare Knowledge of backups and disaster recovery Good understanding of either, or both, Linux or Windows operating systems Knowledge of networking technologies and protocols Familiarity with following change management processes and working in an ITIL environment. Applicants may also be required to assist in other areas within Platform Services when called upon. Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 8 ideally in an IT discipline and/or demonstrate equivalent relevant experience of working in a similar IT role and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role.
