Job Description Assist with the provision of professional planning activities delivered within the Operations Section of Governance Services whilst undertaking the Assessment of Professional Competence in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the Council’s key objectives; specifically in relation to the Community Plan, Shared Commitments, Single Outcome Agreement and Best Value. The Individual East Ayrshire Council is delighted to be offering an opportunity to a recent, or soon to be, town planning graduate. This role sits within our busy Development Management team and offers an interesting and diverse early career opportunity for the successful candidate. Previous incumbents have a strong track record of success, building their knowledge and experience within the role before going on to achieve promoted posts within and outwith the Council. The job sits within our newly created enforcement team and will have a primary focus on the planning enforcement function but will also offer a wider experience across all of the Development Management function. Support and training to build your knowledge and experience will be provided and you will be involved in a wide variety of interesting work including enforcement investigations, planning applications and general enquiry work. We’re looking for an enthusiastic candidate that is keen to work as part of a team to provide great quality customer service to our varied stakeholders and to help achieve and deliver betterment for the East Ayrshire environment and its people. The post is permanent full time and based within the Opera House, 8 John Finnie Street, Kilmarnock and the hours of work are 35 hours per week to be worked Monday -Thursday 9.00am - 5.00pm and Friday 9.00am - 4.00pm. The full time salary of the post is between £34,453 - £37,365 per annum. The work style for this post is ‘Mobile’ - 20-49% of your time in an office or other work location, the admin base for this post is the Opera House. You will work at your administrative base or another agreed office location between 1 to 2.5 days per week and the remainder of the week at home or other work locations as required. It is the expectation that all office-based employees (with the exception of those working in schools) will work to the higher end of their allocated workstyle in terms of time spent in the office or at other work locations.
