DescriptionSenior Contract & Supplier Manager Band 4 – Salary 80,000-85,000Location: Palestra, Southwark, London & Hybrid TfL Permanent Contract x 2 roles. 1x Position – Fleet (rolling stock) & 1 x Position -Track Operations.Hybrid working within this role enables a balance of 50 per cent of time split between the office and home over a 4-week period. Hybrid working arrangements can evolve subject to business requirements.Job Role This role exists within Procurement & Supply Chain (P&SC) to own the post-contract management processes for a defined category of spend, through contract implementation, management, exit and transition, and supplier relationship management to drive benefit and outcomes throughout the life of the contract. It will do this by working with the business and suppliers to understand contractual performance, manage commercial performance including risks and build supplier partnerships to foster innovation and mutual benefit.Key AccountabilitiesLead and develop the commercial team to deliver effective post contract commercial services, through contract implementation, management, exit and transition, and supplier relationship management Ensure effective mobilisation and implementation for newly awarded contracts, and the relevant TfL contract management and/or supplier management framework and toolkit are developed and implemented Lead the commercial and contractual performance management of contracts. Lead contract performance reviews, managing key commercial risks & mitigations to reduce TfL's reputational or financial exposure and identify any additional benefit opportunities. Ensure that all commercial actions, improvements and escalations are driven forward in a timely mannerDevelop strong relationships with key critical / strategic suppliers to facilitate delivery of increased commercial value, maximising bottom line value, performance, cost efficiency and service provision, in line with TfL's risk appetite Develop detailed knowledge of the obligations within contracts, maintaining knowledge of the levers, performance standards, KPIs etcLead on dispute resolution in the event of a commercial dispute, ensuring that commercial issues are resolved in an proportionate and timely manner, working closely with the Legal and Operational Teams where required Be the main point of contact offering advise and support to the business and internal stakeholders on contractual issues/queries, supporting the customer to fully understand how they can extract best value from the contract and supplier and promote commercial awareness across TfLManage and shape contract change control requests/variations Regularly review the effectiveness of the supply chain against TfL business objectives, and implement changes to agreements where necessary, or work with Sourcing Managers to engage alternate supplierSkills, Knowledge & Experience Knowledge Expert knowledge of contract and commercial law and how it applies to TfLKnowledge of the application of procurement tools, including e-sourcing systemsExpert knowledge of contract and supplier management methodologiesKnowledge of relevant TfL standards, policies and proceduresDetailed understanding of relevant EU and UK regulations covering commercial activities, including compliance and governance issues in best practice commercial activitiesLegal issues and processes of claims management, dispute resolution Industry knowledge of relevant categories and/or expertise/specialism in a specific commercial disciplineContractual and supply chain management in a range of business sectors and commoditiesSkillsProven ability to build strong and effective relationshipsExcellent commercial acumen and the ability to apply this to practical situationsExcellent ability to understand the stakeholder landscape and manage and influence senior stakeholdersExcellent ability to communicate, verbally and in writingExcellent ability to present data in an easily understandable format that drives actionExcellent ability to manage and develop a teamExperience Substantial commercial experience operating at a strategic level with a history of delivering results A strong manager and leader with an excellent track record of leadership in large scale commercial projects Experience of owning and managing the contractual performance of large commercial contracts, and experienced in commercial dispute resolution Demonstrable track record of developing and maintaining strong senior stakeholder and supplier relationshipsExtensive experience of influencing internal and external stakeholders Experience in identifying risk and development of mitigation strategiesTrack record of leading the development of capability and driving performance improvement in othersCorporate member of CIPS or holder of equivalent professional qualification.Equality, diversity and inclusionWe are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
