SEN Teaching Assistant - Leeds and Surrounding Areas - Full-Time
Salary: £16,500 - £19,698 per annum (FTE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 32.5 hours per week (family-friendly hours)
We are seeking experienced and highly skilled Teaching Assistants to join a dedicated team at a school for learners with Autism and other complex needs in the North of Leeds. The school is easily accessible via public transport.
The successful candidates will work closely with an experienced pastoral team, including Communication & Interaction Leaders, Pastoral & Family Support Officers, and Behaviour Support Workers. Our team is committed to working closely with families and the local community to provide the best possible opportunities for our pupils, who have a range of complex needs. While many of our learners have a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Conditions, we also cater to a diverse range of needs in both Primary and Secondary schools, with class sizes ranging from 6-12 learners.
Main Duties:
* Support the classroom teacher under direct instruction.
* Facilitate access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the teacher in managing the classroom.
* Assist with the preparation and maintenance of resources and equipment.
* Develop knowledge, skills, and understanding of effective support in a SEN setting.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Is enthusiastic, willing to learn, and has strong communication skills.
* Is adaptable, calm, and able to work well in a team.
* Holds (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced Child Workforce DBS, maintained on the update service.
