Overview
Principal Clinical Scientist - Training & Specialist Analytical Lead, AFC band 8B, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. This is a permanent, full-time position of 37 hours per week. Shift pattern: 0845–1700.
Department of Clinical Biochemistry, Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The role leads the highly specialised mass spectrometry laboratory services in the North Sector and is part of a team of 5 consultant staff and 7 Clinical Scientists within the Biochemistry Department. The department provides specialist local and regional endocrine, vitamin and trace element analyses.
Responsibilities
* Lead the mass spectrometry laboratory services in the North Sector.
* Supervise, train, and line-manage trainee Clinical Scientists enrolled in the Scientist Training Programme (STP).
* Participate in all aspects of the department including reporting, clinical liaison, research and innovation, teaching and audit.
Qualifications and Experience
* HCPC registered Clinical Scientist with an MSc or equivalent.
* Full Royal College of Pathologists membership.
* Considerable Clinical Biochemistry experience.
