About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and knowledgeable HSEQ Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring health, safety, environmental, and quality standards are maintained across our operations. This position requires a proactive approach to risk management and compliance, contributing to a safe and efficient working environment.
Location: Office Based, Irvine.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Support production of construction phase plans, RAMS and associated construction-related risk management documentation.
* Identify any operational and regulatory risks, escalating as appropriate and provide competent advice and recommendations.
* Conduct pre-implementation risk assessments on new sites, if and when, required and identify risk mitigation measures in conjunction with project teams
* Attend meetings if and when required on behalf of Gaeltec's HSEQ department - Management meetings, technical meetings, Action Groups meetings and report outcomes to HSEQ Manager
* Provide detailed audit reports with findings. Identify non-conformities and provide corrective action measures to prevent re-occurrence. Monitor and review any corrective measures have been implemented.
* Monitor business units, project performance and work sites by conducting continuous visits and audits and compiling relevant reports. Report HSEQ Manager performance where repetitive matters are not being addressed according to company requirements.
* Assist in developing all the required documentation, operational checks and reports for the HSEQ IMS Management to be compliant with ISOs 9001/45001/14001
* Support the delivery of HSEQ inductions and TBTs periodically in accordance with the program.
* Identify any operational and regulatory risks, escalating as appropriate and provide competent advice and recommendations.
* To support and where necessary, lead incident investigation, utilising root cause analysis and provide advice on incidents, near misses or other HSEQ complaints put forward by employees, customers, and client. Report the result to the HSEQ Manager.
* Ensure regular emergency response exercises and drills are conducted to ensure the highest level of preparedness in an emergency. Maintain records of such drills, providing recommendations for emergency response improvements. Supervise the regular inspection of fire fighting, safety and emergency response equipment at sites and offices.
* Assist in development and implementing of emergency response procedures and evacuation plans on site and offices. Ensure that these plans are reviewed and updated regularly.
* Ensure that the emergency plans are communicated to staff and visitors and update registers on training and inductions.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a similar HSEQ role or relevant field.
* Strong knowledge of health, safety, environmental regulations, and quality management systems.
* Experience in conducting root cause analysis for incidents and accidents.
* First aid certification is highly desirable.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organisation.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
