The GP Walk in Centre is based at Cardonald Health centre in South Glasgow and will provide urgent primary care services to the local population. The service aims is to improve access, reduce pressure on GP practices, and minimise inappropriate Emergency Department attendances by offering rapid access to same-day assessment for patients unable to secure a GP appointment.
We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic Advanced Nurse Practitioners who have experience of working in primary care at an advanced level. Experience in Acute Care would be an additional advantage.
The Advanced Practitioner will practice autonomously in the assessment, diagnosis and appropriate management of patient presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. They will be supported by a team of GPs and nursing staff on site to deliver urgent care and appropriate interventions as required.
Essential criteria:
Evidence of completion of Masters level education in Advanced Practice
Non-medical Prescriber V300
Proven experience of working in primary care at an advanced level
Professional registration with NMC/HCPC
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

2. 1x full-time 36 hours
3. 1x part-time 32 hours
4. Please note that salary is Pro Rata for part-time posts.
5. The shift pattern for this post is 11:45-20:15 over 7 days including public holidays.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Essential:
Registered Nurse on the NMC Register
Be recorded as a Non-medical Prescriber (V300) with the NMC
An appropriate Masters level qualification in Advanced Practice which has enabled competence in:
6. Clinical assessment
7. Clinical reasoning, judgement and diagnostic decision making
8. Anatomy and pathophysiology
9. Non medical prescribing- V300
10. Leading, delivering and evaluating care
11. Practice learning/transferable work based learning
Significant post-registration experience within a healthcare setting, some of which must be in acute care
An Advanced Nurse Practitioner with Primary Care experience
A commitment to lifelong learning and demonstrates evidence of continuing professional development
Basic Life Support (BLS) essential
Desirable:
Can demonstrate experience in managing staff, leading a team, providing education and training and establishing a supportive, learning environment
Successful track record in working in multi-disciplinary team settings and promoting collaborative approaches to delivering excellent patient care
