Overview
Access and Security Officer (Quadram Institute) at University of East Anglia. This full-time role operates in the Quadram Institute building, providing first-class security functions and maintaining a safe, secure and sustainable environment for staff and visitors and their property 24 hours a day, throughout the year. You will act as first responder for incidents and as a point of contact for information.
Responsibilities

* Act as a first responder for incidents and as a point of contact for information.
* Work as part of the security team with a strong customer focus to support a safe environment.
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
* SIA Static Guarding or Door Supervision Licence.
* Substantial recent experience in a similar security environment.
* Excellent communication and customer care skills; ability to remain calm and professional in all circumstances and be sensitive to the needs and views of others.
Hours and Type
Four on, four off 12-hour rotational shift pattern that includes days and nights. This is a full-time, indefinite position.
Salary and Benefits
Salary on appointment £28,600 per annum, with an annual increment up to £30,231 per annum. Benefits include 34 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays and additional University customary days. The University holds an Athena Swan Silver Institutional Award.
Checks and Compliance
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Appointment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check, including a check of the Child Barred List. It is an offence to apply if barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. A background screening check through BardWood will also be conducted. Full guidance will be provided during the selection process.
