Wealth Management Europe's existing Training and Competence team has implemented a centralized supervisory structure to create capacity for advisers and improve adviser performance. The successful candidate will be part of the national supervisory team, providing oversight, risk analysis, and developmental support to advisers. As a Supervisor, you will manage advisers’ ongoing competency under SMCR, through observations, 1:1s, coaching, feedback, and data analysis, escalating risks and issues as needed. The role mainly supports Portfolio Managers, Intermediary Investment Managers, and some regulated employees in our Central investment and Research teams. This position will support advisors across the UK and Channel Islands, and applicants should be within a commutable distance to an office within our network, with travel across the region required.
What will you do?
1. Supervise portfolio management roles, analysts, and research teams.
2. Engage with investment committees to understand strategic asset allocation decisions.
3. Collaborate with line managers to set shared goals for performance and risk management, supporting development plans.
4. Decide on employee competence, follow up on actions, identify root causes, and recommend systemic changes.
5. Build strong relationships and promote a positive culture around adviser competency and development.
6. Liaise with stakeholders to provide insight into advisor performance and behavioral trends.
7. Identify and implement adviser development opportunities across the network.
8. Manage supervision activities, including planning, record keeping, and regulatory compliance.
9. Support high standards and best practices, encouraging accountability for regulatory obligations.
10. Analyze MI/Data, identify patterns, investigate root causes, and advise on remedial actions.
11. Maintain a mindset of continuous improvement, understanding root causes, and mitigating risks.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
* CISI Certificate in Investment Management / IMC, or equivalent qualification.
* Maintain competence as a Supervisor with up-to-date CPD.
* Strong knowledge of investment instruments, asset allocation, portfolio construction, and risk management.
* Experience supervising or managing portfolios; providing technical guidance.
* Understanding of FCA T&C handbook and regulatory environment.
* Ability to apply FCA guidance confidently across situations.
* Strong business awareness and strategic focus.
* Excellent data analysis skills to identify trends.
* Effective communication skills at all organizational levels.
