We're seeking a motivated and skilled Legal Counsel to join our legal team in the UK. As an Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in supporting the UK Litigation Team during a period of significantly increased case volume. The role will include managing and progressing a portfolio of litigation matters within a team, supporting senior lawyers on higher-risk and strategic disputes..
The successful candidate will, over time, take ownership of a caseload of lower value litigation matters, enabling senior team members to focus on complex redevelopment, termination, and high-value disputes. The role will also require day to day assistance to other teams within the organisation as and when required.
The successful candidate will have strong litigation fundamentals, sound judgement, and the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
What you will be doing?
* Manage and progress a caseload of UK litigation matters within the Electronic Communications Code.
* Support senior lawyers on complex litigation, including termination and redevelopment matters.
* Draft, review, and manage litigation documentation including pleadings, correspondence, witness statements, and ADR documents.
* Instruct, manage, and liaise with external counsel where required, ensuring matters are handled efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Assess legal and commercial risk and provide clear, pragmatic advice to internal stakeholders.
* Review and analyse contracts, leases, and other property documentation in the context of disputes.
* Support dispute resolution strategy development and assist with preparation for hearings, mediations, and negotiations.
* Contribute to reducing external legal spend through effective in-house handling of matters.
* Maintain accurate matter records and reporting on case status, risk, and outcomes.Provide general legal support to the wider legal and commercial teams as required.
What we are looking for?:
* Degree in Law and practical experience
* Preferably 1+ years of law firm or in-house experience in contracts, real estate, land use, transactional, business development, landlord/tenant, property management, telecommunications, and/or business development
* Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), internet and database management
