Overview
As a Deputy Home Manager, you’ll ensure the level of clinical care goes beyond professional standards and regulatory requirements by providing specialist nursing support and advice, taking responsibility for resident care in the Home Manager’s absence, and supervising/coaching colleagues to deliver empathetic, high-quality service.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist nursing guidance and support to the team.
* Assume responsibility for resident care in the Home Manager’s absence.
* Supervise and coach colleagues to deliver compassionate, person-centred care.
* Maintain meaningful records and manage time effectively.
* Ensure safeguarding concerns are recognised and escalated appropriately, and complete required safeguarding training.
Qualifications
* Valid NMC Pin.
* Knowledge of National Standards and the NMC code of practice.
* Experience in person-centred care planning within a care home.
* Strong communication, mentoring, and time-management skills; ability to build positive relationships with residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. You should be able to recognise signs of potential abuse, harm or neglect, know what actions to take, attend role-appropriate safeguarding training, and seek advice or escalate concerns when necessary.
