We are looking for Principal Drainage Engineers to strengthen our Rail & Highways project teams. You will work on a portfolio of rail and highway projects across the UK, with opportunities to support projects in other sectors globally.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing and coordinating project delivery to ensure timely completion within budget, maintaining high technical standards and compliance throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility to detailed design, including site supervision when required.
2. Producing drainage designs, assessments, or reviewing work, including calculations, reports, specifications, and other contractual deliverables.
3. Ensuring all designs and assessments comply with current Standards, Codes of Practice, and Best Practices.
4. Supervising, mentoring, and developing engineers and technicians within your project teams, working with line managers to maximize training opportunities.
5. Developing and maintaining client relationships, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
6. Assisting in bid and tender preparations and supporting business development efforts.

Qualifications and Experience:
* Chartered Engineer (C.Eng) status with experience in multi-disciplinary railway or highway drainage projects.
* Experience in CRE(Drainage) roles under the Engineering Management for Project standards (NR/L2/RSE/) is advantageous.
* Leadership experience in multi-disciplinary projects within rail, highways, or water sectors.
* Strong analytical skills and knowledge of engineering fundamentals, current standards, and drainage design software.
* Experience with drainage surveys, catchment analysis, hydraulic design, and legislative requirements.
* Effective communication skills with clients, contractors, and team members.
* Team leadership capabilities and mentoring skills.
* Understanding of CDM Regulations, risk assessments, and relevant legislation.
