Job summary: An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Nottingham Breast Institute at the City Hospital for a Clerical Officer/Receptionist. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who likes to be busy and working as part of a team as well as on their own initiative, to provide Clerical/Receptionist support for the busy Breast Screening department.
This is a full time post. Duties will be undertaken at the Nottingham Breast Institute on the City Hospital Campus and Ropewalk House in central Nottingham.
Responsibilities
* Work within a team to complete daily tasks and general duties including preparing clinics, making and changing breast screening appointments, answering the phone, reception duties and filing.
* Provide cover for the reception desk at the Breast Institute and at Ropewalk House.
* Maintain good communication and prioritise workloads in view of changing priorities, with the ability to work on own initiative.

Job responsibilities
The successful candidate needs to be computer literate, experienced in the use of electronic communications and be confident during face to face and telephone interactions with patients and visitors. They will be a point of contact for patients at the Breast Institute and Ropewalk House and act as an information resource for staff and visitors. Knowledge of hospital systems i.e. Medway, PAS and DHR is desirable, however training can be provided.
Person Specification
Training and Qualifications Essential
* Educated to GCSE level in maths and English, Grade C or above
* NVQ2 Business Administration/Reception, or equivalent experience
Experience Essential
* General office experience, including reception work.
Desirable
* Knowledge of the Breast Screening service
* Experience working within breast screening or a similar department
Communication and relationship Essential
* Able to exchange information clearly with patients and staff for appointments and general queries
* Previous "customer service" experience
Planning and organisation skills Essential
* Planning and organisation of routine tasks
* Organised and methodical, able to work quickly and accurately
Physical skills Essential
* Able to retrieve files from shelving using appropriate equipment

* Must be able to work at both City Campus and Ropewalk House
* Flexible with start and finish times when covering reception.
