Position: Therapeutic Caregivers – Contracted Home Share Providers
Locations: Salmon Arm, BC
Earnings: $4250 per month, plus respite and per diem per month (details below)
*Care for Persons Served will be in the Caregiver’s home*
Summary:
The Therapeutic Caregiver -HomeShare Provider will provide comfort, encouragement, and daily support to the Persons Served. Our Persons Served are children and youth between the ages of 6 and 18 who require a highly supportive living environment to manage mental health difficulties, addictions, and/or behavioural challenges.
The Therapeutic Caregiver -HomeShare Provider, will provide a welcoming home environment that is inclusive and attentive to the unique needs of the individual(s). The Persons Served must be provided with their own private bedroom in the home that the Therapeutic Caregiver either owns, leases, or rents.
Due to the unique support requirements associated with this role, it is essential that no other children or youth be living in the home. This is an independent contractor position and a thorough screening assessment of each applicant will be conducted to meet the needs of the Persons Served. The Therapeutic caregiver will work with the team to identify potential respite providers to enhance supports to the Persons Served.
Becoming a Therapeutic Caregiver -HomeShare Provider can be one of the most rewarding experiences in an individual’s life, both for the Therapeutic Caregiver as well as for the Persons Served. It can also be demanding and present occasional challenges. As part of the Axis team, Therapeutic Caregivers are provided with specialized training and ongoing support.
Earnings Per Service:
1-bed service:
1. $4250 per month
2. 5 days respite per month at $135 per day
3. $1465.86 – $1655.91 per diem per month for each Persons Served placed

Qualifications & Requirements:
4. Must be patient, compassionate, and adaptable
5. Previous experience working with or caring for individuals who have faced adverse life circumstances
6. Knowledge of and the ability to work with complex trauma, Autism, FASD, ODD or other neurobiological conditions is beneficial
7. Successful completion of the SAFE Homestudy (conducted by Axis)
8. Current Level 1 First Aid (will be provided)
9. CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (will be provided)
10. Cleared Criminal Record Check & MCFD screening
11. BC Class 5 driver’s license, safe driving record, and a reliable vehicle
12. Home Insurance (Additional Rider Insurance required, extra cost reimbursed by Axis)
