Overview
You will serve as a team leader in the Clinical Biochemistry core laboratory, engaging both the pre‑analytics and post‑analytics sections. The laboratory is equipped with Roche c8100 analysers and Sebia electrophoresis systems, allowing the post holder to rotate through both sections.
Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate and develop the laboratory team, driving significant change in reception and laboratory services for Blood Sciences in the South Laboratory.
* Support the Service Manager in developing key service areas, including laboratory automation and quality management.
* Ensure accurate and timely laboratory reporting of special investigations and analytical results.
* Maintain UKAS accreditation and IBMS training standards, facilitating continuous professional development for staff.
Qualifications
* HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with an MSc or equivalent qualification.
* Demonstrated leadership, team spirit and initiative.
* Experience with laboratory automation platforms is an advantage.
* Strong communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
