Overview
A role for an NHS England Approved Clinical Coding Trainer as Clinical Coding Training Manager at Northern Care Alliance.
Lead training across a wide range of specialties and shape structured pathways for future talent.
Responsibilities
* Manage and deliver the comprehensive training programme for the Clinical Coding Department.
* Implement and deliver regular approved training sessions for clinical coders, external NHS organisations, clinicians, and managers.
* Advise on and support the implementation of new guidance and standards, ensuring local policies are updated and compliant with national coding standards.
* Day‑to‑day management of the Clinical Coding Training Team and clinical coding trainees.
* Plan, organise and deliver the training programme, including the Clinical Coding Trainee Programme, NCCQ revision programme, refresher courses, classification and standards updates, specialty‑based workshops and individual or ad hoc training needs.
* Build workforce capability, embed national standards and local policies, drive quality improvement and expand trainer capacity.
Qualifications
* Must be an NHS England Approved Clinical Coding Trainer.
* Substantial experience in clinical coding training.
* Strong leadership and organisational skills.
* Passion for developing others and leading a diverse team.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
