Head of Sales
60k basic / 90k package
Based in Manchester city centre
Overview
This is an office based head of sales position with a fast growing and market leading software company. You'll be responsible for 2 Sales Managers and a team of 30 BDM's, and the role involves extensive hands on coaching as well as extensive CRM data analytics. You'll be in the office 5 days per week and 1 Saturday morning each month. This is a high energy and dynamic business who offer first class support and genuine opportunities for progression.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To be a strong, motivated and hands on leader who can drive Sales Performance and remains close to the detail of all keys sales metrics
2. Quickly assess and understand the sales process that is in place, identifying areas of strength and any potential opportunities to enhance sales performance
3. Work with Directors to review performance on daily, weekly, monthly basis
4. To liaise with marketing to ensure marketing activity and spend drives sales opportunity and revenue for the business
5. To manage the internal and external sales team to ensure revenue targets are met and exceeded
6. To quickly and effectively deal with performance management issues across the sales function
7. Ensure maximum and appropriate activity of the sales team, monitoring daily performance and conversions and development of reporting suites to deliver MI to the board
8. To drive and manage both quantity and quality of sales, ensuring compliance standards and criteria are met and reported on
9. Ensure sales strategy is aligned with all supporting departments (Operations, Finance, Marketing) through a win-win approach
10. To deliver top line sales growth and performance, whilst monitoring costs and expense management and working within agreed budgets
11. Liaise with the Group Board regularly to report on performance and learn from the lessons of the our Global Group Businesses
12. Develops a business plan and sales strategy for the team that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
13. Work closely with New Business and Telemarketing Departments to drive appointment levels, conversion and performance.
14. Liaise with IT development and marketing teams to assist the enhancement and delivery of sales performance
15. Monitor, manage and report on all Sales KPI's and report on Sales Performance on a daily, weekly, monthly basis
What You Bring to the Team:
16. A proven track record of managing, driving and motivating an inside sales team
17. Proved experience in leading high performing sales teams ideally with exposure of selling into the SME market
18. Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage and monitor the sales process and pipeline
19. Highly numerate with the ability to quickly understand the key figures that impact sales performance and profitability
20. A strong communicator who can inspire their people and influence and engage confidently and concisely at board level
21. An ability to work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment and can adapt quickly to change.
22. Salesforce experience required
23. Strong campaign management and data background
24. You will be within a commutable distance to the office in Manchester - 5 days a week.
