Role Summary
The NHS Minor Injury Unit is a nurse-led service operating in a fast-paced environment. Practitioners assess, diagnose, and treat patients with various primary care conditions, working closely with the Emergency Department. The MIU is managed by the Emergency Department team at the Royal Devon and Exeter (Wonford) Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

The post-holder will work autonomously as an independent practitioner, providing holistic care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, safe discharge, and referrals. Responsibilities include managing own workload, assessing and treating patients daily, deputising for the clinical manager, and contributing to quality and service improvements. The role involves monitoring and auditing clinical standards within the area.
