Race Engineer, Pit Crew and Strategy Jobs
Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan three times per week, at minimum.
Responsibilities
* Main tasks: Assemble, service and operate cars at events around the globe and at the team base. Build up cars for Rallying and Racing according to the priority of requests. Take over responsibility for preparation and modification of race cars.
* Infrastructure management and service provider coordination: Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the continuous development of FIA trackside IT and race management systems.
* Pre- and post-event work: Final assembly of components and mechanical projects within AMR. Complete pre- and post-event strip, service, and rebuilds of on- and off-car assemblies. Support the Race Team with full project lifecycle management.
* Trackside IT leadership: Lead and manage the IT Trackside Reliability team, overseeing critical trackside IT infrastructure to ensure reliability and performance.
* IT infrastructure delivery: Provide and support IT infrastructure including client/server systems, storage, networking, communications, A/V, and security. Set up and pack down IT equipment at races and tests, refining details as needed.
* Design and development support: Contribute to the design and development of trackside IT infrastructure, emphasizing network and firewall architecture and reliable operation of trackside systems, including patching and monitoring.
* Role-specific activities: Support live operations from Mission Control during race and test events. Assist with the development of analysis tools and processes to optimise team performance. Produce pre-event and post-event analysis.
* General responsibilities: Contribute to setup and build of garages and work areas for all events. Carry out electrical installations safely within garage and trailer environments. Support car operations during events.
About the Role
We are seeking professionals to deliver a high standard of IT support across critical environments — including Trackside, Mission Control, and Simulator facilities. This role may involve travel and on-site support for testing events as required.
Role variants exist across locations with hybrid or onsite expectations, including reporting to Concord, NC or Warren, MI three times per week, and additional frequency dictated by business needs.
