About the Role Base Location: Flexible Scotland | We're proud to offer Flexible First approach to work, and these roles are no exception. We will however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices across Scotland (Glasgow/Inverness/Aberdeen/Perth). The projects are in the Argyll area near Tarbert, where site presence is required. The Role We have a fantastic opportunity for an established Project Manager to join the SSEN Transmission Capital Delivery team and work on a complex new build substation project. You will - Lead the SSEN-T project team and managing external contractors, to ensure project excellence is achieved and we deliver on our promises. - Manage the execution of a capital project, ensuring the safe delivery to programme, cost and the necessary quality. - Ensure the project adheres to our Safety Management Systems, best practices and the SSE Governance processes. - Demonstrate alignment with the SSE Safety culture and core values. You have - A strong project management, engineering or construction background and understanding of applicable health and safety regulations including CDM regulations. - Excellent communication and leadership skills with a proven track record in the successful delivery of large projects. - Contractual management experience (NEC3 experience is preferable), with the ability to forecast and control costs as well as develop and manage integrated project programmes. - Due to the location of our projects, there is a need to have a driving licence and, a willingness to travel to site and be on site for at least 3 days a week during construction. - Experience managing large electricity transmission projects is desirable. Experience in managing major projects from other industries, in particular large utility projects with complex commissioning requirements, coupled with the desire and ability to learn quickly will be considered.
