Consultant Otolaryngology Post with Otology Interest
We invite applications for the position of Consultant Otolaryngologist in Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Candidates should have a subspecialty interest in Otology and implantable hearing devices (excluding cochlear implants). Fellowship experience is preferred.
Our institution has strong links with Glasgow universities and the MRC, with a rich history of research and teaching. The successful candidate will be encouraged to participate in and develop these areas.
You will join the UK's largest collaborative team of ENT Consultants at one of Europe's largest state-of-the-art teaching hospitals, delivering elective, emergency, and outpatient services. Inpatient services are based at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, with a 1 in 8 on-call rota. We encourage the applicant to take a leadership role in our implantable hearing device service.
This full-time position is offered on a 10 Programmed Activities (PA) basis, with flexible options for part-time work. Up to 2 Additional Programmed Activities (EPA) may be available for outpatient, procedure, or management activities. Negotiations for additional non-DCC PAs are possible based on service needs.
Newly qualified consultants will initially be allocated a minimum of 1 SPA (Supporting Professional Activity), covering CPD, audit, clinical governance, appraisal, revalidation, job planning, and meetings. An additional SPA may be allocated for implantable hearing device leadership and other responsibilities.
