Our client, a leading company in the water industry, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their team for water and wastewater projects.

Water sector experience is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design complex engineering processes within the water and wastewater industry.
* Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop solutions that adhere to design codes.
* Lead mechanically biased projects, coordinating efforts across disciplines.
* Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures to minimize impact and prevent recurrence.
* Contribute technical expertise to project briefs.
* Provide mechanical insights during asset surveys, plant condition assessments, feasibility studies, optioneering, whole life costing, and preliminary designs.
* Provide technical sign-off and assurance throughout the project lifecycle.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Support testing and development of new technologies for research projects.
* Develop innovative tools to enhance engineering capabilities.
* Assist in establishing a 'Centre of Excellence' for engineering.
* Foster a cohesive, sustainable engineering structure from graduate level to industry experts.
Qualifications:
* Chartered Mechanical Engineer status.
* Significant experience in water/wastewater treatment design.
* Proven leadership in multi-disciplinary teams.
* Strong analytical skills for equipment failure investigations.
* Experience in developing engineering tools and technologies.
