Head of Business and Operations Start date: ASAP 37 hours per week Term Time Only Inset Days – 44.6518 weeks per year Grade M Points 44 - 47 Salary - £47,621 Closing Date: Friday 20th February 2026 Interview Date: W/C Monday 23rd February 2026 The Head of Business and Operations is a key associate member of the Budmouth Academy Senior Leadership Team and reports to the Principal. The successful candidate will be responsible for organising and managing highly efficient, effective and flexible teams of staff to provide support and organisational functions within the Academy to ensure the smooth operation for the benefit of all our staff and students. This post carries responsibility for the development, management, operation and delivery of all support services within the Academy, including Finance, HR, general administration, management of the school’s estates and facilities and to act as the GDPR Lead for the school and liaise with the Trust’s DP Officer, Judicium to report any breaches, ensure the school has relevant up-to-date DPIA’s, comply with audits and ensure all staff are GDPR trained. Further Information The successful candidate will need: ● Advanced organisational and administrative skills, and be prepared to initiate and manage change. They will need to have an eye for detail and a creative approach to problem solving. They will require energy and enthusiasm and will need to be flexible, hardworking and be able to work effectively as a team member and as an associate member of the senior leadership team, to achieve targets and meet deadlines. ● Experience of school business management or highly relevant finance and resources management. ● To have proven strong and effective leadership and management skills. ● Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of, and manage, a team. ● Strong presentational and written skills. ● Experience of working with external partners, managing contracts and service level agreements. ● To be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritise successfully. ● To be committed to your own professional development and the development of others.
