About the Role
Gloucestershire County Council (GCC) is looking for Family Drug & Alcohol Court (FDAC) Social Workers to deepen their practice and develop their skills. The role is based in Stroud, Tewkesbury and Forest of Dean, and involves working alongside the multi‑agency service and TACS to deliver evidence‑based therapeutic interventions in FDAC courts.
Key Responsibilities
* Hold one FDAC case (approx. 2 days per week).
* Attend fortnightly FDAC hearings with families.
* Write and curate all FDAC reports (review, evidence, final).
* Attend formulation and intervention planning meetings.
* Deliver interventions and support permanency planning.
* Work within a multidisciplinary team (nurses, therapists, support workers, etc.).
* Receive full induction, peer and 1:1 supervision, and contribute to transformation reviews.
* Collaborate with locality teams to share learning and enhance services.

* Systemic, trauma‑informed practice.
* Multi‑professional collaboration and planning.
* Understanding of Hidden Harm and its impact on children.
* Confidence in court settings and social work voice.
* Restorative practice with high support and high challenge.
* Use of language that cares and promotes permanency planning.
