Things we’d love to tell you about our Lockerbie AD plant
8. A well invested, highly automated site which Is soon to receive a further c.£39 million investment to improve our facility and equipment upgrades with more planned on the horizon.
9. Works are ongoing with our Anaerobic Digestion plant at Lockerbie which on completion will be the largest AD in Europe.
The role:
This is an opportunity not to be missed. You’ll get the chance to lead a team of engineers at Arla Foods Lockerbie Dairy working across our Anaerobic Digestion plant. Providing leadership, coaching and development of a multiskilled team, ensuring continuity and improvement of operation. Above all M&E Team Leader will work to champion safe working conditions, and contribute to the work with LEAN principles, food safety and quality at the site.
10. Plans, improves and executes maintenance of site equipment to improve reliability in line with Arla’s maintenance strategy.
11. Drives the people agenda and focuses on talent pipeline, developing individuals to have the right competencies and behaviours within the department
12. Manages the delivery of KPI targets to ensure the department and site achieves its goals
13. Leads fault finding and coordinates effective resource prioritization in consultation with other functional leads
14. Ensures a safe working environment in the department
15. Communicates effectively to report on status of lines and equipment based on performance
16. Lead, coach and guide to ensure all activities are conducted in compliance with company and statutory requirements
17. Defines resources required, work planning and employee scheduling
18. Applies Lean to continually improve operational performance to ensure the department adopts a genuine continuous improvement mindset, seeking best practice at every opportunity.
What you’ll need in order to be successful in the role

20. Leadership and Motivational skills with a talent for team building and upskilling.
21. You will fully understand all statutory law requirements, contractor control regulations and have experience with facilities and budget management.
22. Having in depth knowledge and experience with the T.P.M programme, S.A.P PM knowledge and Office 365 skills would be highly advantageous
23. Experience in mechanical and electrical engineering in an industrial environment, with experience working on a effluent treatment plant (ETP) or Anaerobic Digestion plant (AD) would be highly desirable.
