32 hours per week, flexible 7:30 am–6:30 pm Monday‑Friday, with potential for additional hours.

£12.25 per hour.

Job Overview
GP Receptionist or Customer Service experience essential. The role provides general assistance to the practice team and projects a positive, friendly image to patients and visitors, both in person and via telephone.
Key Responsibilities
* Opening and locking up the practice premises, maintaining security.
* Managing and monitoring the practice appointment system.
* Processing personal and telephone appointment requests and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional.
* Processing and distributing incoming and outgoing mail.
* Taking messages and passing on information.
* Filing and retrieving paperwork.
* Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines.
* Computer data entry, allocation and collation of information following practice procedures.
* Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members and associated healthcare agencies.
* Clearing and re‑stocking of consulting rooms as required.
* Providing clerical assistance to practice staff (e‑mailing, word/data processing, filing, photocopying, scanning).
* Providing refreshments for staff and visitors as needed and keeping the kitchen area clean.
* Keeping the reception area, notice‑boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free of obstructions.
* Maintaining confidentiality of patient and practice information and complying with health & safety policies.
* Participating in required training and performance reviews.
* Supporting equality, diversity and safeguarding principles in all interactions.
Person Specification
* Essential: GP Receptionist or Customer Service experience.
* Desirable: Experience working in Primary Care.
Additional Information
Reports to the Reception Manager. The role requires a commitment to confidentiality, health & safety and effective communication within the team and with patients.
