About the Role As an Associate Structural Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of high-profile structural engineering projects across multiple sectors, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and infrastructure. You’ll take responsibility for project management, technical excellence, and client relationships, while mentoring and developing engineers within your team. You will play a key role in maintaining and improving quality standards, driving sustainable design innovation, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest technical standards. Key Responsibilities Lead the structural design and coordination of projects in steel, concrete, timber, and masonry. Oversee and manage project teams, ensuring clear communication, effective delegation, and mentoring. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and contractors. Review and approve design deliverables including calculations, drawings, and technical reports. Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (Eurocodes, British Standards, and building regulations). Carry out technical reviews, value engineering exercises, and risk assessments. Support BIM integration and digital design processes (Revit Structure, Tekla, etc.). Provide commercial oversight — monitoring budgets, fees, and project progress. Contribute to business development activities including proposals, bids, and client presentations. Promote sustainability and innovation in structural solutions. Qualifications and Experience Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng). Chartered Engineer status (MIStructE or MICE) or equivalent. Minimum of 10 years’ experience delivering structural design and project leadership. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary coordination and manage client relationships. Strong proficiency in analysis and design software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, Revit Structure).
