Are you a Financial Accountant looking for the next challenge in your career? My client is looking for a Financial Accountant who can support the Finance Manager in producing monthly management reports and preparing and consolidating annual budgets and forecasting processes. You will have the opportunity to prepare departmental budgets and reforecasts of service and management costs.
As a Financial Accountant you will be given responsibility for accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations. You will work closely with the Finance Manager to monitor business performance, identify and highlight risks and suggest the appropriate corrective action.
Key responsibilities of the Financial Accountant:
1. Regularly provide accurate and timely reports, analysing budgets and forecasting
2. Prepare and consolidate annual budget and forecasting processes, as well as producing monthly budget control and management reports
3. Maintain the general ledger and lead on reconciliations
4. Take the lead on accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and income and expenditure
5. Give financial advice to managers and budget holders to help their preparation of budgets and forecasts
6. Produce quarterly and annual regulatory and statutory accounts and reports
7. Assume the role of 'super user for Open Accounts and maintain the Chart of Accounts
Required skills and experience of the Financial Accountant:
1. Relevant Accountancy qualification or equivalent experience
2. Excellent knowledge of both management and financial accounts
3. Previous experience of producing statement of accounts
4. Strong relationship skills with both internal and external stakeholders
5. Confidence to challenge budget holders in a professional, credible and constructive manner
6. Experience of working within a Housing Association
