Equans is recruiting for a Site Supervisor to join our team in Hollingworth Academy, Cornfield Street, Rochdale, OL16 3DR. This is a permanent full‑time role working 40 hours per week. Salary is £26,010.00 per annum and a benefits package is provided.
Shift Pattern
10:00am – 18:00pm (including a working lunch). Flexibility is required; you may also be asked to work 06:30‑14:30 or 12:00‑20:00 to cover annual leave.
Responsibilities
* Undertake general caretaking duties, including porter services (deliveries, exam set‑ups), reactive cleaning of bodily fluid spillages, and general maintenance (changing lamps, replacement ceiling tiles).
* Carry out planned maintenance activities such as Legionnaires checks, door condition checks, light switch checks, litter picking, gritting, and leaf removal.
* Operate the opening and closing of the building.
* Provide regular support to enable the school to deliver the teaching curriculum and communicate with school representatives.
* Record statutory and mandatory planned maintenance duties.
* Log reactive maintenance tasks on the Helpdesk using the CAFM system to update work orders.
* Perform a daily “find‑it‑fix‑it” routine or report issues to the helpdesk, ensuring they are resolved within our service level agreement.
* Test safety systems such as emergency lighting, fire alarm, and sprinkler systems as part of statutory compliance.
* Use computers, mobile phones, and technical equipment; prior experience is an advantage.
* Support sub‑contractor inductions and maintain registers of inductions, DBS, and RAMS.
* Participate in emergency call‑outs.
* Supervise the cleaning team, conduct weekly audits, and manage cleaning stock.
* Ensure full knowledge of all cleaning equipment and complete weekly checks.
* Perform any other duties related to the caretaker role as required.
* Travel to other academies or schools as business requirements dictate.
* Cover holidays, sickness, and other leave for staff, and facilitate additional site uses (community, 3rd‑party lettings).
Qualifications
* Previous caretaking experience.
* Full driving licence.
* Good knowledge of health and safety and ability to follow site and company policies and procedures.
* Proven practical maintenance skills and a track record of reliability, motivation, and customer relationship promotion.
* Capability to cover lettings to meet business requirements.
* Must undergo an Enhanced DBS clearance and be able to pass it.
* Must have evidence of the right to work in the UK.
