HGV Class 1 Driver – Birmingham, West Midlands
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Birmingham, West Midlands.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for growth and progression.
Shifts
• Working five days out of seven
• Start times between 02:00 – 04:00
• Weekend work is required
Rates of Pay
• £16.50 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:
As a HGV Class 1 Driver, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
• Carrying out nationwide RDC deliveries (fridge work – no handball required)
• Operating and driving Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently
• Completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensuring all loads are loaded and secured correctly
• Adhering to all UK traffic laws and transport regulations
• Communicating effectively with transport planners and customers
• Reporting vehicle defects or maintenance issues promptly
• Assisting with loading and unloading when required
Essential Skills:
To be successful as a HGV Class 1 Driver, you will need:
• Valid UK Category CE Driving Licence
• Minimum 24 months’ experience driving Category CE vehicles
• Valid UK CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
• No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
• Good level of spoken and written English
• Excellent timekeeping and punctuality
• Strong understanding of UK traffic laws and regulations
• Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience
• Previous commercial driving experience
• Previous multi-drop delivery experience
Training:
• Driver assessment required following a successful assessment
