Job purpose
To support Senior Engineers in developing earthing and lightning protection designs and evaluations for a wide range of installations, ensuring the safety of workers and the public. Responsibilities include site testing, project management, and mentoring graduate and junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities and accountabilities
1. Develop earthing and lightning protection designs for various project types.
2. Collaborate with experienced lead and senior Engineers.
3. Stay updated with relevant standards and requirements.
4. Produce EMF and AC interference studies for power transmission projects.
5. Conduct Impressed Voltage studies to advise on safe working practices near HV equipment.
6. Create 2D CAD drawings using AutoCAD.
7. Perform site testing such as soil resistivity and earth impedance measurements.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
* Experience: Experience with HV networks and earthing systems preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CAD experience advantageous. Training provided. Opportunity for role development and progression towards Chartered Engineer status.
