Title: Care Services Supervisor
Remuneration: £16.04 per hour (equivalent to £30, FTE per annum – based on 37 hours, over 52 weeks)
Hours: 30 per week (equal to £25,022.40 per annum), Monday to Friday
Reports: Care Services Clerk, Home Support Workers
Primary Responsibility
The primary responsibility of this role as Care Services Supervisor is to provide structure, support, training, and mentoring to the frontline home worker team who seek to deliver the highest standards of care and support to our members.
It is the role of the Supervisor to ensure that new and existing staff are fully supported in their roles, encouraged to be the best they can be in the delivery of the service, and held to account for their care practice and delivery. It is essential, in this position, that the holder understands and ensures the team understands the organisational values to embed and evidence this across the working and care relationships.
Other requirements will be to demonstrate organisational values, professional and leadership qualities with all Evergreen colleagues, partner organisations (statutory and third sector), Evergreen members and their families, and the public.
Duties of the Role
* To oversee and supervise a team of Care staff delivering high quality care, to our older and often vulnerable member group, their families and carers.
* To ensure the wellbeing, professional development, support and training of new and existing care staff through professional relationships, supervision and appraisal.
* To respond to referrals, assessments and care planning for members, their families and carers.
* To welcome new members on board, ensuring that they are well informed, understand the assessment process and plan, regular reviews and how to raise any concerns or grievances.
* Ensure regular review, actions taken, accurate record keeping and adherence to policies and procedures that are designed to give high standard, quality care and support.
* To carry out appropriate risk assessment and management for each individual member, with the creation of bespoke care plans, this should always be done with member participation.
* To follow our in-house induction for new staff members and provide training in the workplace, introducing new staff to the care team and members, follow up engagement with service and staff.
* To provide ongoing support and guidance to new staff members, delivering the very best in training, coaching or mentoring and accountability.
* To ensure care plans, and member records are up to date and relevant on our data system.
* To assist with rota planning, timesheets, recording holidays and sickness and staff queries/support.
* To liaise regularly with members, their families and other allied or medical professionals.
* To understand your role and work within legislatively required and professional boundaries.
* To undertake all other duties as reasonably requested or required of you for the complete fulfilment of the role.

This role is office and community based to ensure staff and member wellbeing and service quality assured.
The role may be varied according to role requirements which may change from time to time.

Person Specification
The role holder will need to:
* Be flexible and adaptable, to meet the demands of the service.
* Be able to use own initiative, and apply their skills and knowledge to the requirements of the role
* Have a healthy respect for our organisational values, staff and our member group
* Have a good understanding of and have worked within a Care provision with recent practical experience of this.
* Be personable and enjoy working with people with high regard for older people
* Enjoy leading and supporting front line care staff
* Be able to manage own workload
* Be organised.
* Function well under periods of pressure
* Work as a team player
* Good communication skills – written and verbal
* Identify and respond to issues as they arise.
Qualifications
* Essential - as a minimum, NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (or be working towards or committed to undertake this)
* Desired - train the trainer qualification or be prepared to complete this
* Essential - hold a valid UK driving licence, use of a road worthy vehicle and prepared to insure vehicle for business use in your role.
