Experienced Structural Integrity Engineer
Location & Salary
Location: Leatherhead, Bristol, Burton on Trent, Gloucester, Glasgow, Manchester or Plymouth.
Salary range: £40,000 to £65,000 per annum depending on experience.
Working Pattern
We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer‑Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual with a passion for managing and extending the life of ageing critical assets. If you are a capable engineering consultant with a background in asset integrity, condition assessments and asset life extension in fields relating to pressure equipment, pipework or rotating machinery, we would welcome your application. We support our clients by delivering specialized guidance on the safe and efficient operation of their assets across all industries. The projects we deliver focus on high value, high performance and/or safety critical assets and span the full lifecycle from substantiation of new designs to supporting life extension of critical plant.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and extend the life of ageing critical assets.
* Deliver specialised guidance on the safe and efficient operation of assets across all industries.
* Focus on high value, high performance and/or safety critical assets spanning the full lifecycle from substantiation of new designs to supporting life extension of critical plant.
* Collaborate closely with customers, tackling their toughest challenges—diagnosing and resolving defects in individual vessels to developing strategies for whole production facilities or power stations.
* Work across the consultancy business and with clients, making structured decisions, solving problems and showing initiative and ownership.
* Lead effective teams with the capabilities to meet customer requirements and mentor junior team members.
* Contribute positively to Frazer‑Nashs culture of transparency, positivity, trust and community.
Essential Requirements
* A degree in engineering or equivalent. MEng, MSc or a PhD.
* Ability to travel and conduct site visits, customer meetings, and plant walkdowns.
* Deep technical knowledge in the mechanical / structural engineering domain, with familiarity across other disciplines.
* Experience with Finite Element Analysis (preferably Abaqus, Ansys or LS Dyna).
* Experience with codes and standards, such as ASME III, ASME VIII, API579, BS7608, BS7910, R5/R6.
* Experience in a customer‑facing role for both project delivery and business winning.
* Recognised by peers / industry as a trusted advisor in your discipline.
