Data Analyst
We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst to support USAFRICOM by delivering advanced data analytics, automation, and intelligence support capabilities that enable data‑driven operational and strategic decision‑making.
Responsibilities
* Apply data analysis best practices and tradecraft techniques to process, store, and exploit multi‑source datasets such as Publicly Available Information (PAI) and Commercially Available Information (CAI).
* Develop and implement automated analytics, conduct large‑scale quantitative analysis, and leverage programming and scripting tools such as Python, R, Java, Spark, Databricks, and Azure technologies to transform complex data into actionable intelligence products.
* Ensure compliance with Intelligence Community directives, data security requirements, operational planning standards, and data quality practices throughout all analytical activities.
* Clean, organize, integrate, and maintain structured and unstructured datasets while developing scalable data models, dashboards, visualizations, and analytical products that effectively communicate findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
* Collaborate with military personnel, partner nations, policymakers, law enforcement organizations, and cross‑functional teams to identify customer requirements, translate operational needs into analytical solutions, and support the development of fused intelligence products.
* Document analytic methodologies and processes, conduct exploratory and operational analysis of large datasets, and balance accuracy with operational timelines to support mission objectives.
* Provide formal and informal reports, briefings, presentations, talking points, and decision‑support materials while contributing to customer outreach, stakeholder engagement, and accountability mechanisms.
* Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and analytical methodologies to improve mission effectiveness and operational understanding.
* Participate in national and international meetings, committees, symposiums, and evaluations of analytical software, tools, and datasets in support of continuous capability enhancement.
Qualifications
* Experience in data science, data engineering, or quantitative analytics, including ETL development, data integration, data modeling, automation, and geospatial or geo‑enabled datasets.
* Proficiency with programming and scripting languages such as Python, R, or Java for data analysis, automation, and large‑scale data processing.
* Experience with big data platforms and cloud‑based technologies, including Databricks, Azure, or Spark.
* Experience working with Publicly Available Information (PAI), Commercially Available Information (CAI), or multi‑source intelligence datasets.
* Knowledge of machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and advanced analytical techniques.
* Ability to query, synthesize, and interpret large datasets to identify trends, insights, and operational relevance.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in fast‑paced environments while meeting tight deadlines.
* Ability to work collaboratively across teams and translate customer requirements into actionable analytical solutions.
* TS/SCI clearance.
* Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, Data Science, or Computer Science (Master’s degree preferred).
Nice to Have
* 2+ years of experience supporting a Combatant Command environment.
* Experience with operational planning policies, ICD‑203, ICD‑501, IC‑206, or Intelligence Community tradecraft standards.
* Experience delivering briefings and presentations to technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Experience developing dynamic dashboards and real‑time operational visualizations.
* Experience supporting fused intelligence production and documenting analytic methodologies.
* Experience evaluating and testing analytical software, datasets, and mission tools.
* Experience with advanced collection techniques or managed attribution environments.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits
The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by factors such as location, education, skills, experience, and contract requirements. Benefits include health, life, disability, financial, and retirement plans, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care. Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible for Booz Allen’s benefit programs.
