1:1 Teaching Assistant Year 2 – ASD Support (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
Teaching Personnel are looking for a compassionate and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to Support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a primary school setting.
This role is ideal for someone who is patient, nurturing, and confident working closely with children who may have communication differences, sensory needs, or challenging behaviours.

About the Role
* Provide 1:1 support to pupil with ASD throughout the school day.
* Help the pupil to access learning and stay engaged in classroom activities.
* Use strategies to support communication, routine, and emotional regulation.
* Work closely with the class teacher to follow learning and behaviour plans.
* Support with social skills, transition times, and sensory needs.
* Provide calm, consistent, and structured support to build trust and confidence.
* Promote inclusions and celebrate the pupil’s strength and progress.
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with children with ASD/additional learning needs. (school, care, youth, work, etc)
* Calm, patient, and able to de-escalate challenging behaviour.
* Strong communication and relationship building skills.
* Able to follow routines and provide consistency.
* Passionate about supporting children to achieve their full potential.
* A DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
