Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year Requirements: We are looking for a candidate with significant expertise in Power BI for data visualization and reporting. You should have hands-on experience with Azure services, specifically Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL Server. A strong understanding of dimensional modeling, such as Kimball methodology, is essential. You must possess proficiency in sourcing, manipulating, and interpreting complex datasets, alongside a strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Experience in managing stakeholders, gathering business requirements, and delivering technical specifications is also required. Familiarity with DevOps and agile methodologies in data project delivery is important, as well as excellent communication skills to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. A track record of supporting and training colleagues on new data products and solutions would be beneficial. Recognized Microsoft certifications in Azure Fundamentals and Power BI are desirable. Responsibilities: In this role, I will expect you to contribute to the delivery of our organization's data strategy by supporting projects through the full lifecycle, from requirements gathering to design, development, testing, and release. You will lead the implementation of Microsoft Power BI reporting, ensuring our solutions align with business needs and future opportunities. Developing and maintaining system architecture in partnership with chosen data and analytics solution providers will be a key responsibility. I also need you to utilize Azure SQL data warehouse and related Azure services to build scalable data solutions and self-service reporting capabilities. Ensuring that appropriate access controls are applied to safeguard data and maintain compliance with governance standards is essential. You will drive efficiency by identifying opportunities to automate manual processes and reduce reliance on spreadsheets and legacy tools. Collaborating with stakeholders to define reporting needs and translating complex requirements into actionable technical specifications will be critical. Additionally, you will provide expert guidance on data architecture, modeling, and analytics approaches, contribute to policies on data governance, mentor junior BI developers, and train stakeholders on the effective use of BI tools. Lastly, I expect you to maintain awareness of emerging technologies and continuously develop your skills to stay at the forefront of data and analytics.
