About the role
We are seeking a qualified, motivated, legal officer with the ability to develop excellent relationships with partners and colleagues. Experience in handling a caseload including sales under Right to Buy legislation, enfranchisement, leases, licences and traffic orders is preferred but you will be supported and training will be provided to undertake these and other areas.

Prior experience in local government is desirable but more important is your determination to provide a first‑class legal service. Our Legal Service provides high‑quality, clear legal advice on all aspects of local government work and has recently invested heavily in our Lexcel accredited Legal Service. Based in Bury town centre, we offer flexible and agile working and a range of staff benefits. Our legal team is incredibly friendly and supportive, and you will be provided with training and development opportunities to develop and enhance your skills in property, planning and highways matters. Our legal officers are well supported to ensure they can excel with opportunities available for career development. We very much work as a team with a focus on training, mentoring, and coaching to get the right results. We are supported by our Practice Manager to achieve better ways of working.
