Job Title: Level 2 Teaching Assistant

Job Purpose
To support the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality education and care to pupils. You will work both independently and under the direction of teaching staff to help students reach their full potential, especially those who need extra support due to learning, behavioural, or emotional difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
* Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
* Help manage classroom behaviour and promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
* Support the development of pupils’ literacy, numeracy, and social skills through tailored interventions.
* Prepare classroom materials and resources as directed by the teacher.
* Accompany pupils on educational visits and supervise break/lunchtimes as required.
* Monitor and record pupils' progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
* Contribute to assessment and the planning of next steps for pupils’ learning.
* Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
* Adhere to school safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.

Person Specification
Essential:
* Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
* Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to follow instructions but also work independently.
* Understanding of safeguarding, equality, and inclusion.
Desirable:
* Experience working with children with SEN or behavioural needs.
* First Aid or additional safeguarding training.
* Knowledge of the EYFS, KS1 or KS2 curriculum (depending on placement).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
