This is an ideal development opportunity for Band 5s ready for more responsibility and clinical autonomy. You’ll rotate through a variety of respiratory specialties, gaining experience in complex patient care, on‑call duties, and multidisciplinary teamwork—all while being supported by experienced Band 7s.
Rotations are 9 months and include
* MADU / Medical
* ITU / Surgery
* CF / Medical
* Community Respiratory including Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Main duties of the job
* Independently assess and treat patients with complex respiratory needs across a range of clinical areas, including ITU, medical wards, and community respiratory services.
* Develop and implement individualized physiotherapy treatment plans using evidence‑based practice.
* Supervise and support junior physiotherapists, assistants, and students, contributing to their development and learning.
* Participate in the respiratory on‑call rota and manage a varied caseload, prioritizing effectively in a dynamic environment.
* Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, ensuring clear and effective communication with colleagues, patients, and carers.
* Contribute to service development, clinical audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure safe use of physiotherapy equipment in line with Trust policies.
* Engage in ongoing professional development and support the training of others within the department.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
Clinical
* Independently assess and treat patients, including those with complex presentations, using investigative and analytical skills.
* Develop and implement individualized physiotherapy management and treatment plans based on clinical reasoning and evidence‑based practice.
* Maintain high standards of clinical care and evaluate outcomes, ensuring all professional and legal responsibilities are met.
* Participate in the respiratory on‑call rota and manage a varied caseload, responding to urgent referrals and unpredictable workloads.
* Keep up to date with clinical developments and implement changes in practice as appropriate.
* Ensure safe use of physiotherapy equipment and adherence to departmental policies.
