We are looking for 2 enthusiastic and motivated Financial Management Assistants to work closely with the team to report an accurate and timely monthly financial position and with budget holders to support the financial sustainability of the organisation.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist and support the Finance Reporting Manager and other Financial Management colleagues in providing a range of financial services to a specified division/s.
They will be responsible for ensuring all month end transaction processes and procedures are accurately completed in the required time frames. The post holder will also be expected to build and maintain close working relationships within the department and other colleagues across the Trust and will be confident in presenting financial information to non-finance budget holders.
The post holder will need to work flexible on varying tasks and procedures and should be able to prioritise these as required. A motivated individual is required for this role who is prepared to take responsibility and be proactive at all times in development of their knowledge.

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
1. Pursuing a CCAB or CIMA qualification or relevant experience at an appropriate level.
2. Educated to degree level or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
3. Experience of working with large volumes of financial data.
4. Experience of completing month end processes with excellent knowledge of how accruals and prepayments work.
5. Experience of using general ledger and report writing software packages.
6. Experience of working with large volumes of financial data.
Desirable criteria
7. NHS experience is preferable but not essential.
8. Previous financial management experience in a similar sized organisation.
SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
9. Good Knowledge of Excel spreadsheets including use of look ups and pivot tables.
10. Analytical skills – ability to analyse data and identify key themes and trends.
11. Clear communicator with proficient writing, data entry and presentation skills to communicate complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
12. Engagement with budget holders/managers, ensuring that intelligence gathered is reflected within monthly reporting.
13. Experience of working with minimal supervision. To be an effective team player as well as using own initiative.
14. Ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
15. Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy and with attention to detail.
16. Ability to work under pressure in a busy working environment, able to multi-task and use own initiative.
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES
Essential criteria
17. Ability to travel to hospital sites as required.
18. Hybrid working required with at least 2 days in the office.
