We have an exciting opportunity to join our Infrastructure Team as an Infrastructure Engineer to help us drive stability and improvements to our PayPoint Group’s IT Infrastructure while we continue to push forward with our next gen cloud technology and automation.
What will you be doing?
Infrastructure engineers will ensure automation of tasks is at the forefront of speed to deployment of new project work or existing improvements to the infrastructure.
The ideal person will have a proven track record in the installation, support, and maintenance of advanced Windows and Linux Technologies, with the ability to manage incidents through to resolution. They will demonstrate an understanding of Infrastructure services at an elevated level for On-Premise and In-Cloud technologies. Previous experience in the financial sector or working in a service-critical environment is advantageous.
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the Infrastructure Services meet all regulatory requirements, including PCI DSS, ISO27001, and Cyber Security Essentials. This includes introducing standards to ensure conformity within PayPoint environments.
Key responsibilities include:
* Operational support of the Infrastructure, conducting 2nd and 3rd line analysis of incidents and problems.
* Engaging with relevant third-party support to assist with incident resolution.
* Performing resolution, root cause analysis, impact analysis, and escalation with detailed documentation in the ticketing platform.
* Ensuring compliance and operation within all company controls and security standards.
* Assisting with projects and infrastructure delivery.
* Proactively driving automation of infrastructure tasks to ensure repeatability.
* Identifying and implementing improvements to existing processes in line with PayPoint and Handepay standards.
* Driving service improvements through best practices and adopting new technologies.
* Maintaining consistency and quality of service, ensuring support tickets are progressed according to operational service levels.
* Reviewing and approving changes following the Change Management Process.
* Implementing, maintaining, and testing PayPoint disaster recovery services as needed.
* Updating documentation, policies, and procedures, and ensuring adherence.
* Providing on-call support for one week out of four per month.
* Performing any other duties as applicable.
What would we like from you?
Proven experience in production support or project delivery, with the ability to document and explain designs clearly.
Attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Expertise in the following areas:
* Windows Server OS (2016 to 2022)
* Full Windows stack including DHCP, DNS, AD
* Linux (Ubuntu, RedHat, Rocky)
* Microsoft Exchange 2013/2016
* Microsoft Office 365
* Microsoft Azure Stack (Compute, Networking, Azure Active Directory)
* Hyper-V
Support experience in:
* VMWare
* NetApp
* System Center
* Cisco routers and switches
* Microsoft SQL
* Understanding of security related to networks, servers, applications, data, and databases
Additional preferred skills include:
* PCI-DSS compliance
* Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting
* Windows Storage Spaces and Storage Spaces Direct
* Designing highly available systems
Experience in:
* Delivering projects from inception to completion
* Using software such as zScaler, CrowdStrike, SIEM, Solarwinds, Grafana, Jenkins
