Job Summary
Mind in West Essex seeks an experienced Clinical Team Manager to lead its Children and Young People's Mental Health Support (CYP MHST). The role will develop and oversee the West Essex MHST service, covering over 90 schools and colleges across Epping Forest, Harlow and Uttlesford, with a commitment to full coverage and national standards.
Responsibilities
* Lead the MHST Management Team and deliver a clinically effective service in line with national guidance, NHS contract and Mind in West Essex policies.
* Operate the mental health support teams, setting and monitoring Key Performance Indicators and ensuring compliance with clinical pathways from assessment to discharge.
* Provide line management, operational and clinical supervision, training, appraisal and rota duties for EMHPs, Supervisors and other staff.
* Supervise a small clinical caseload, conduct assessments, plan interventions, and maintain accurate, legally compliant records.
* Coordinate with schools, colleges, CAMHS, and other agencies, ensuring timely support and multi‑agency working.
* Lead audit, quality assurance, data collection and reporting, meeting local and national deadlines.
* Develop and implement whole‑school approaches to emotional wellbeing, produce promotional and informational materials, and maintain service level agreements.
* Manage complaints and incidents, safeguarding, and risk management, ensuring full compliance with policies.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered practitioner with one of the following professional bodies: BABCP, BACP, UKCP, HCP, NMC, BOAT, BASW.
* Experience as a clinical specialist in a Child and Young People's mental health setting.
* Demonstrated expertise in low‑intensity CBT and specialist assessments for children and young people.
* Experience working in an MHST or CAMHS setting (desirable).
* Experience working with schools or educational settings (desirable).
Essential Skills and Abilities
* Valid UK driving licence and access to transport across West Essex.
* Ability to travel to multiple venues in a day.
* Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively and independently.
* No criminal record that would prevent working with vulnerable groups.
* Capacity to undertake clinical supervision and line management duties.
