Community First Aider (Staffordshire, Shropshire & Wolverhampton)
Volunteering with St John Ambulance strengthens communities. From youth support and education to wellbeing, events, and fundraising; your time makes a real impact.
At St John Ambulance, we aim to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education.
We seek individuals passionate about helping others, caring about their communities, and eager to make a difference by sharing your first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll provide first aid at local events and educate the public, helping to grow the ripple effect of First Aid.
By supporting community partnerships, you will help expand our membership and fundraising efforts, spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives.
Volunteering as a Community First Aider offers a rewarding experience, delivering an essential service. It’s beneficial for you, your community, and our nation, requiring only a small time commitment.
We will provide you with a proper induction and necessary training for your role, along with a supportive environment. Details about our volunteer roles are included in the role descriptions and the volunteer charter, outlining what you can expect from SJA and what we expect from volunteers.
If selected, you will need to undertake induction and training, including a two-day Community First Aid Course and associated e-learning. The course is scheduled for July 2025, with dates to be confirmed.
Meetings are held on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm at:
* St John Ambulance, Sheaf Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, ST1 4LW
* or Thorley Drive Pitches, Cheadle, Stoke-on-Trent, ST10 1SA
The interview will take place on 10th May at the Sheaf Street location.
